With individual IC-Cards distributed to participants upon entry, ministries, NGOs, and committees were able to access a request-to-speak button at their fingertips to carry out moderated discussion seamlessly. A built-in, and easy-to-use voting feature on the units then allowed for a series of Yes/No/Abstain votes, with the results being displayed immediately on projector screens positioned throughout the room.
World Conservation Congress, 2021
Marseille, France
> Several thousand leaders and decision-makers from government, civil society, indigenous peoples, business, and academia.
> Multiple event sites.
> Over 800 microphones and audio receivers.
> Virtual attendance and remote interpretation.
A year after the congress was postponed due to the pandemic, the Conference Rental team took to Marseille to join world leaders in sustainability for ten days of debates, voting, and resolutions seeking to tackle the interlinked climate and biodiversity crises. Despite attendance being compromised by international travel restrictions, a temporary installation of over 800 wired conference units was required by the Members Assembly at Marseille’s Parc Chanot convention center.
